Steps Towards Joy

I was listening to Christmas music after a busy day, and one of my favorite ones came on. I will take the moment to make a  shameless plug to spend some money on yourself for your mental and emotional health by purchasing an Amazon Echo. I have music playing throughout my home almost every waking moment I am here, and it is such a great opportunity to set a positive mood for myself and everyone who visits. I thereby own my space and help direct the mood for all who enter.

Michael W Smith remade the classic “Joyful Joyful, we adore You” while I was browsing Pinterest for a current project I am undertaking. How interesting that I came across this list of 25 questions to ask yourself while journaling. It struck me as a win/win. As I invest time in appreciating the best things in my life, my environment is filled with sounds of worship for my God who has so graciously provided all of these blessings.

What are some things you do to be mindful of your blessings? I would love to hear from you, as well as other gratitude questions to ask.

That is so true! Unconditional love is a priceless gift of far greater value than anything we could buy at a store.

I really liked question #19 today. I live in such a beautiful area, although I can’t think of a part of the US that isn’t beautiful in some way. I have been meditating and praying over some difficult decisions, so today I went on a long – not challenging, just relaxing – walk through a nature center. It so refocuses my thoughts as I hear the crisp sound of leaves and twigs snapping, the ease of water moving like a ballerina dancing with no one looking. The trio of deer silently posing in the distance. Overhearing the young family discussing the possible purchase of their first home. It brings fresh focus and a renewed meditation to my mind like nothing else can!
