What I hope for you today

Hope changes everything. Hope precipitates the route to joy. Hope brings internal strength when external circumstances look daunting, perhaps impossible. My prayer for you today is to keep faith in your situation. If hope is nonexistent, pursue it diligently.

“”I’ve always talked to players about perception and reality. I don’t worry about perception. There may be some of that, that people want to attach to a good name, but the reality is that some good things can happen.” – Tony Dungy

What is on your list of impossibilities today? What has worn you to such fatigue that you can’t crawl out of that mental or physical manhole

“Always direct your thoughts to those truths that will give you confidence, hope, joy, love, thanksgiving, and turn away your mind from those that inspire you with fear, sadness, depression” – Bertrand Wilbertforce

Do yourself a favor today, perhaps an eternal favor. Take a chance to believe again. Faith is the cause.  Joy is the result.

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” – Helen Keller

Let me know what you have renewed hope in today. Encouragement feeds encouragement in others. Someone else  needs to hear about your story of hope. Your journey to joy.

I believe that healing can happen. We picked up a lady for church last night whose life is HARD. She came broken but the teaching gave her HOPE. We can’t win if we quit. She got out of our van with a real smile on her face. Her hope was renewed!

  3. I feel better after reading your blog. I’ve had a hard week and need a jolt of HOPE. Thanks for being you.

I shared this with a friend whom was diagnosed with cancer. Great read!

Our thoughts this week — and hopefully for much longer — are in perfect sync. In light of recent events, I have found Hope to be the only thing of value to me. I hope in Christ, putting my trust and faith in Him. Along the way I stopped hoping that he would make everything better, and instead asked Him for the strength to bear up under it. This prayer has blessed me in a much greater way.

Thank you for sharing your heart and this lovely post.

    Happy Thursday to you!

My hope in Christ is the one thing I cling to; who else loves me – and you – with such unfailing love? How beautiful that you seek His strength above all else at such a difficult juncture. I am confident He will make everything better. Perhaps not the way that seems best right now, but I firmly believe He has the best plan for you.

Happy Thursday to you as well! Let me know how you are doing.

  6. Preach to me sister, I feel as if you have singled me out and you are telling me [“Always direct your thoughts to those truths that will give you confidence, hope, joy, love, thanksgiving, and turn away your mind from those that inspire you with fear, sadness, depression” – Bertrand Wilbertforce

I absolutely agree, I’ve come to understand that sometimes, people speaking fear into another is not solely them wishing bad on you, it’s simply them being fearful of taking a step in which you have managed to. No fault of theirs, that’s just how things can be at times.

    Thanks again.

I agree ~ fear can slip into our hearts and minds so insidiously that we don’t recognize it until it is running through our veins. I don’t like confrontation (who does?!), but it is necessary sometimes to speak directly to someone who is infecting you with their fear. I wish you the best as you move forward!

      • Ooh, this means the world to me. I’m actually going through this exact situation with someone right now, thank you for providing a solution. Oh, I thought about you earlier today, hope you are feeling well, I KNOW you are, I had to do a dedication to you on my blog. You are a huge inspiration! God bless you.

  7. I’m glad I read this… I was giving up on myself but now I know. Hope is still alive! Thank you

  8. Thank you for this. Been feeling a bit discouraged lately and this came at just the right time. Bless you!

I am so glad to hear that it encouraged you. We all get discouraged; I admire you for not letting it take completely over.

  9. Job 14:7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

Thanks for your post. I hold on to my Hope, my Savior Jesus Christ for I know He will bring me through all things.

  10. As always, I hope for you joy, happiness, God’s love, bravery to conquer the unknown, God’s blessings, fearlessness, God’s greatness, health, strength, love, splendour and God’s beautiful Glory in you and your family.

May God bless you and always keep you!

  11. Thank you for an inspiring post! My hope in Jesus Christ and faith in Him give me the strength to keep fighting the cancer battle, day in and day out. Without Him I could never make it, but with God all things are possible. Cancer will steal your joy if you let it, and some days it looks like that nasty thief has captured mine. But a little hope mixed with a measure of faith goes a long way to recapturing the joy, and God always comes through with encouragement in one form or another. One way is through His word, another is through family and friends, and yet another way is through inspiring and encouraging posts or comments from fellow bloggers. Hope grows when it’s watered with drops of encouragement from others. Some days we need our hope watered, and some days we water the hope of someone else.

    • Overwhelmed By Joy

That is so well-stated! Yes, hope grows when it’s watered with drops of encouragement from others.

I love the promises in 2 Cor. 4:17 – 18 because it keeps my current afflictions in proper perspective, and refocuses my attention to eternity. “Our temporary minor problems are producing an eternal stockpile of glory for us that is beyond all comparison. We don’t focus on the things that can be seen but on the things that can’t be seen. The things that can be seen don’t last, but the things that can’t be seen are eternal.”

How are you doing at this time? Can I pray for you in any specific way?

Sometimes I get down on myself and lose Hope. I am the only person that can make myself happy. I can control my thoughts, which will either be positive or negative. For the past 2 months, the negative thoughts have been trying to come back in. I’m so glad I read this post because I will remind myself that I have Hope to let my positive thoughts win over the negative.

  13. I try to hold on to Hope…..but it’s jealous of my pain.
